Naomi is a specialist music educator with experience in early years, primary, secondary, tertiary and adult education. She specialises in both guitar and voice across a range of styles and contexts. She takes great delight in facilitating an enjoyable music learning experience for all of her students, whether they come for individual lessons, sing in her choir, play in her guitar ensemble, attend one of her workshops or participate in her university class. The diversity of Naomi's musical and teaching experience allows her to provide rich learning opportunities for her students. Naomi's structured, sequential and enjoyable approach involves tailoring her teaching to individual students’ learning styles, personalities, interests and existing skill set to ensure the best learning outcomes for all students. Naomi’s capacity to develop a strong rapport with her students fosters a love of music and learning.

Private lessons

Naomi currently offers lessons in guitar and musicianship. She enjoys the one-to-one learning environment where she is able to customise lessons to suit the individual student's interests and goals.

Guitar Ensembles

An experienced conductor, Naomi directs her students in guitar ensemble contexts. She encourages all of her students to participate in an ensemble because it develops a different skill set to playing solo and it is great fun playing with other musicians!

Naomi's philosophy of music education feeds in to her choral conducting, where she seeks to improve the skills of her choir members by teaching aural, musicianship, score-reading and sight-reading skills in an organic and relevant way in choral rehearsals.

Naomi facilitates choir and music workshops in various capacities for a range of institutions, organisations and private groups including schools, universities, choirs, orchestras and private music teachers.

Tertiary education

Naomi works as a sessional academic teaching vocal studies, choir and music analysis at Macquarie University and Western Sydney University.
